Just for practice - Modern technology is creating a single world culture

(This is a practice for TOEFL Writing.)
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Modern technology is creating a single world culture. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.
Some people think that modern technology could protect the traditions of countries and creates more varieties in our world. In the same time, the other people believe that these technologies and products actually erase the diversities between cultures and make the world look much similar. In my personal opinion, I prefer the second argument. Through using these technologies such as smart phones, internet and modern transportation systems, people could travel around the world much faster and share their cultures to each other easier than before. Therefore the barrier between cultures and cultures are much less than the ancient time. To examine how the modern technology shapes the single world culture, we have to look into further details and examples.

The foremost fact is that different cultures could be easily affected by each other when people use modern communication technologies to share their traditions with other people. Take the internet, the most powerful communication tools as example. There is so much information from different cultures on the internet. Such as the knowledge on Wikipedia or Google news could easily be gotten by people. And the internet not only gives people those information, but also affected people themself, make them adapt these cultures to their own traditions. For example, traditionally the east people do not have Halloween in their own culture. But through the effect of the media on internet, now east people also have celebrations on Halloween Day. Because of these wide-spreading information and powerful internet news, people now can share their different customs without distance barrier, and their sociality would gradually affect each other and become much more similar with the other. Therefore, the difference between cultures would be erased and the single world culture would be formed by modern technologies.

Second, people could travel around the world and bring their culture to different countries easily through using the modern transportations which are much faster than the traditional transportations in ancient times. Some modern transportation systems, such as air planes, steamers and high speed trains have shorten the distances between countries to countries. For instance, it might take 3-5 years if the travelers want to travel from China to France in the 15 century, but it only takes a few hours on the plane in 21 century. In New York Air Port, there are thousands of foreign people and tourists are getting aboard for business trips or vacations. When they move from country to country, they also bring their own cultures and traditions into the local sociality. That is how the modern technology creates a standard world culture: these convenient modern transportations bring people everywhere and affect the local culture.

In brief, the previous paragraphs completely explain how the modern technology creates the single world culture. By these modern communication tools and modern transportation systems, people could travel around the world, share their cultures and constantly affect each other. That is why the different country now looks no different with our own.
